The Robotics and Electronics pathway teaches students computer programming concepts and provides opportunities for application through programming physical hardware devices. Beginner and intermediate students learn coding, and Computer Science concepts through programming robots.

If your child gets excited about hands-on engineering projects, this pathway will provide them with a fantastic experience. Our Robotics and Electronics pathway teaches students electronics, robotics, and computer programming. Students practice these concepts by building their own projects using Micro:bit, RaspberryPi, Arduino, a programmable circuit board (a microcontroller) used by a large community of people around the world to build electronics and robotics projects.

Students who complete the Robotics and Electronics pathway will gain:.

  • experience in problem-solving and thinking creatively to combining software and hardware and build interactive electronics and robotics projects.
  • understanding of computer programming concepts, including advanced concepts like Data Structures and Classes.
  • the ability to build projects that sense and respond to real world actions (like a smart robot that uses sensors to autonomously navigate a complex maze or an Arduino electronic project that monitors sensor data and updates the user over the Internet)
  • confidence and the ability to both code and work with hardware
  • a strong foundation for engineering
